Varsity Wins State Championship!!

Keller Varsity Silver defeats Arlington Martin 9-3 to win the State Championship!  A hard fought three-game series culminated in a victory for Keller Hockey. 
Friday night's game against Midlothian set the tone, with good  hits, great team play and outstanding goaltending.  The Jaguars fell to Keller 4-0, but it was not an easy game.  The team went into the 2nd Period intermission with a 2-0 lead, but came out ready to finish the game and took care of business. 
Game 2 against cross-town rivals Highland Park promised to be difficult and it was a 45 minute battle between two very evenly matched teams.    Jaren Jones set the pace with a hat trick before the end of the 2nd Period, and the team stayed disciplined and only received three penalties in the entire game.  A late game flurry of action put Highland Park on the board with a final score of 5-2. 
Game three brought Keller and Martin together for their final season matchup.  Scoring was evenly spread with 9 goals by 6 players, with the first goal only 30 seconds into the game.  Cameron Edwards got a defensive hat trick,and good defense and more great goaltending held Martin to only 3 goals. 
Overall, a very good finish for the boys and reflective of their hard work all season.  Congratulations!
